About Horizon Academy
In September of 1999, Horizon Academy first opened its doors to 12 students. Specializing in helping children with learning disabilities, Horizon Academy is a unique educational institution designed to provide an environment where children can experience academic success. Through innovative instructional programs and the individual attention of highly qualified staff, Horizon Academy offers the only program of its kind in the Kansas City area and currently serves the needs of up to 81 students each year.

Register for the Great Pumpkin Race 5k, happening October 25th!
The 2nd Annual Great Pumpkin Race 5k, benefitting the students of Horizon Academy, will kick off on Saturday, October 25th, with the fun run starting at 8:45 am. Race participants are encouraged to grab a costume and join us for a fall morning of fun as we run/walk through the streets of Roeland Park!
As a participant of the Great Pumpkin Race 5k, you will receive chip timing, a short sleeve tech shirt, a finisher's medal and great post-race food and beverages! Lil' Pumpkin Fun Run participants will receive a participant shirt and a ribbon.
There will be a costume contest and the three people with the best costumes will win a prize! There will also be pumpkin decorating and face painting activities. Grab some friends and create a team for a discounted rate!
